Wisconsin governor mandates masks for all individuals when indoors through Sept. 28
Friday, July 31st, 2020
The Badger Region has been getting lots of questions about the Wisconsin mask mandate that goes into effect Aug. 1 through Sept. 28.
The Region has consulted with its legal adviser and came to the same conclusion the WIAA shared recently with coaches and athletic directors: Volleyball players are NOT exempt from the mandate and must wear a face covering when indoors.
While we understand this isn’t ideal, this is how we (as coaches, athletes and parents) will have to proceed if we want to make this training and competition happen and still be in compliance with all state and CDC mandates. If an individual has a medical condition where they cannot wear a mask, one is not required.

When at any volleyball training or competition: remember to following all COVID guidelines:
- Do not show up if you are sick, have a fever or have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with the virus
- Wash hands with soap and water, refrain from touching your face, keep yourself and your bags 6-feet from other players’ belongings, etc.
- Bring your own water bottle(s) with water or sports drinks
- Prepare to have your temperature checked when arriving at the facility.
- Use hand sanitizer, wipes and other sanitization equipment that will be on site. Staff will be cleaning and wiping things down throughout the day. You should be doing the same.
- Be wearing a mask at all times unless eating or drinking
