Ruth Leitzke is a charter member of the Badger Region, and she fondly remembers the first official meeting in a dentist’s office in Waukesha!
There were five or six clubs in Wisconsin at that time, and she was representing SAVE Select VBC of Hustisford. Since that time she has been involved with Milwaukee Sting as a 14s coach and has been with Wisconsin PoWer and all its entities since 1999. Leitzke has been a driving force for the growth of the volleyball in the state. She took a struggling Hustisford High School volleyball program and turned it into a powerhouse in the 1990s capping it off with a state title in 2000.
Leitzke has served as the president of the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association, is USAV Cap II Certified and serves a Badger Region as an Impact Clinician.
Her motivation was and is the desire to share the sport she loves with as many players as she can.
