The uncertainty of the 2020-21 season has everyone looking for the latest information regarding tournaments in the Badger Region. While we can’t speak to every event taking place in Wisconsin this club season, we can address questions that are commonly arising about the Badger Region Power League, Badger Region Championships, Dale Rohde Memorial Tournament and the Badger Region Qualifier. BADGER REGION QUALIFIER

Per Region Qualifier Format the 13’s and 14’s will have a single day event. Since they have less than 10 teams entered, there are formats to achieve accurate place finishes in a single day event. The 15’s, 16’s, 17’s and 18’s all have more than 10 teams so they will have pool play on Saturday which will eliminate teams so that the top 6 teams will advance to bracket play on Sunday.

  • 13’s Division Format: 1 teams – 1 Pool of 4 and 1 Pool of 3 teams . 4th place teams in each pool will tie for 7th place. 3rd place teams in each pool will play a placing match to determine 5th/6th place in case of re-allocated bids. Top 2 teams in each pool will play a 4-team bracket. After the bracket play if the 3rd place team has not lost to the 2nd place team in this event, they will play an American bid determining match. This is being done so that the all bids are earned on the court and not because of formatting/scheduling.
  • 14’s Division Format: 9 teams – 3 Pools of 3. 3rd place teams in each pool will tie for 7th place. Remaining 6 teams will advance to bracket play played out to positions. After the bracket play if the 3rd place team has not lost to the 2nd place team in this event, they will play an American bid determining match. This is being done so that the all bids are earned on the court and not because of formatting/scheduling.
  • 17’s Divisions Format: 11 teams – 2 Pools of 4 and 1 Pool of 3 on Saturday with top 2 teams advancing to Sunday play. The 6-team bracket is a hybrid bracket (see attachment of hybrid bracket) with playback to places. After the bracket play if the 3rd place team has not lost to the 2nd place team in this event, they will play an American bid determining match. This is being done so that the all bids are earned on the court and not because of formatting/scheduling.
  • 18’s Divisions Format: 12 teams – 3 Pools of 4 on Saturday with top 2 teams advancing to Sunday play. The 6-team bracket is a hybrid bracket (see attachment of hybrid bracket) with playback to places. After the bracket play if the 3rd place team has not lost to the 2nd place team in this event, they will play an American bid determining match. This is being done so that the all bids are earned on the court and not because of formatting/scheduling.
  • 15’s and 16’s Division Format: 13 teams – 1 Pool of 5 and 2 Pools of 4 on Saturday with top 2 teams advancing to Sunday play. The 6-team bracket is a hybrid bracket (see attachment of hybrid bracket) with playback to places. After the bracket play if the 3rd place team has not lost to the 4th place or 2nd place teams respectively in this event, they will play a National and American bid determining match. This is being done so that the all bids are earned on the court and not because of formatting/scheduling.

BADGER REGION POWER LEAGUE

Changes on BRPL since the first weekend:

1) We received feedback that all the facilities had some issues with overcrowding or delays during the changeovers between waves. To try to reduce or solve that problem, all facilities will start play at 7:30 a.m. and we have increased the times between waves.

2) We are staying with 1 spectator per player as our maximum at each facility. The Champions Center is able to increase their spectator amount – going from the 5 per team of their January limitations up to 8 spectators per team for this weekends event. (More facility details will be sent to teams specifically for each location.)

3) With the 14-Elite and 14-Select divisions scheduled for a Sunday PM wave, and after running quite late into Sunday evening in the January event up in Appleton we have decided to postpone the challenge match for the 14-Elite and 14-Select Divisions. This match will be added as an additional match in the final weekend of BRPL.

BADGER REGION CHAMPIONSHIPS

DALE ROHDE MEMORIAL

  • 2. There are two locations for the event. The B12/13s division (Sting 12 Adidas, Sting 12 Lightning, Chargers and RVA 13s) is at the RecPlex, 9900 Terwall Terrace, Pleasant Prairie.  All other divisions are at the UW-Parkside Fieldhouse, 4130 Petrifying Springs Road, Kenosha, WI. It is located at the corner of Highway E (12th Street) and 39th Avenue (Hwy. JR). Please be mindful of parking only in lots open to the public.
  • 3. Please make sure to identify if your team(s) is playing on Saturday or Sunday as the 16s division was divided into two different days. Please also have a Sports Engine roster printed and signed in preparation for the event. AES rosters will only be accepted for out-of-region teams.
  • 4. The team, coaches and spectators must check in together. Spectators must walk in next to their athlete. There are no parent lists or temperature checks, but spectators will not be allowed in without being with their son. No stragglers!!!!!! Cost is $5 per spectator. There is no ATM on site. If a credit card is required a 5% transaction fee will be added to the cost.
  • 5. Teams who play at 8 a.m. can check in starting at 7:15 a.m. Teams who ref at 8 a.m. can check in starting at 7:30 a.m. Teams who play or ref at 9 a.m. can check in starting at 8 a.m.

  • 9. Masks will be required at all times among all players, coaches, officials and spectators. Please do not have to make us ask you (whoever you are) to properly wear the mask to cover the nose and mouth. Thank you.
  • 10. Outside chairs ARE allowed in the fieldhouse (courts 4-7) as seating is very spread out in that spacious venue. No chairs on the hardwood in the gym.

  • 12. There will be NO trainer on site. Staff will have limited access to ice and first aid materials, but that is it.
  • 13. There will be NO concessions on site. Plan accordingly. Small carry-ins allowed. No coolers, please. Please clean up after yourselves.
  • 14. All rostered athletes will receive a small gift thanks to the Dale Rohde Memorial Fund and the Badger Region. Tournament champions will receive T-shirts from our friends at Fine Designs.
