CANDIDATE INFORMATION
VICE PRESIDENT
Jim Momsen
Previous Board Experience: Badger Region Southeast Rep. 2008-present
Why should you be considered for this position? My love and passion for the sport of volleyball and continuous drive to make the sport better for everyone involved. As a BRVA Member who is not attached to any club, I tend to analyze proposals and issues and ask questions to decide, “What is the best thing for the members of the Badger Region?”
Candidate Qualifications and Experience: My background and expertise in Organizational Development, Communications, and Corporate Training will be beneficial in representing local board issues and concerns as well as assisting with development of grassroots training materials. I want to give as much as I can back to the game that meant so much to my father, to give “kids of all ages” (players, parents, fans, coaches, and officials) a positive environment in which to participate, and have them be lifelong fans of the game.
I have been involved in volleyball as:
* A recreational league player (in the 80s-90s)
* A “volleyball dad” (in the ’00s)
* An official (since 2003)
* An Advisory (since 2005) and Voting (since 2008) member of the Badger Region Board
* A member of the local PAVO boards – NIBOWS & Wisconsin Board of Officials (since 2004)
* USAV and PAVO National referee
* Badger Region Referee Chair since 2011
* Active in collegiate officiating, line judging and assigning
Nancy Paulson
Previous Board Experience: I have been a member of the Badger Region Volleyball Association since its inception. My first years of service were dedicated to the role and mission of the Junior Development Chair. Subsequently I have served terms as the Southeast Representative and the Vice Commissioner.
Why should you be considered for this position? I thoroughly enjoy, honor and respect my involvement in the BRVA and having served its membership in each of those capacities. I would like to serve a second term as the Vice Commissioner. There are many initiatives that I want to contribute to bringing to fruition. It is very important to me to continue to support the establishment of our organizational foundation, advance programming opportunities, and enhance the experiences our membership. I take personal responsibility and am dedicated to adhering to the requirements of the role of the Vice Commissioner.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience: In my additional role as the Scorer Chair, I find it very rewarding to have advanced a program that has strengthened the skills of the BRVA referee cadre, club programs and players. My active involvement at BRVA and USAV events are among other avenues where I value utilizing my various Advisory and BOD experience to support the initiatives of the events on behalf of our membership.
I have served in an Advisory or BOD role since the inception of the Badger Region, established in 1994.
I hold or have held positions as Junior Development Chair, Scorer Chair, Southeast Representative, Vice Commissioner, junior coach, club director, college player, college coach and USAV YJOV Boy’s Committee Chair.
