Bill Petersen begins his third year as the Badger Region Beach Chair. He replaced the late Dale Rohde. A native of Racine, WI, Bill earned his Zonal Beach official certification in 2011.
Bill became involved in beach volleyball as an official in the late 1990s. He has officiated a number of beach tours, Extreme Volleyball Tour (EVT), AVP in Milwaukee, AVP Next, Volley America, National Volleyball Tour (NVT), and USA Beach Volleyball.
This past February, Petersen served as a line judge for the FIVB Major Series in Fort Lauderdale. He worked the Men’s semifinal match and the Women’s Bronze Metal match. In addition, he line judged the 2016 FIVB World Challenge matches in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Petersen officiated at the first three USA Junior Beach Tor National Championships. In spring of 2019, Petersen will begin his third season as a NCAA Collegiate Beach official.
