Every junior club is required to educate their players and coaches on all aspects of refereeing and scoring. Coaches and players must know and be able to perform the duties of a first referee, second referee, line judge, scorer and libero tracker so that they are capable of serving on work crews at tournaments. Clubs can educate their players and coaches in one of three ways.

FACILITATE YOUR OWN TRAINING
Clubs may facilitate their own officiating clinic using region-approved training materials (courses listed below under individual online training).
How to Access the USAV Academy
*Individuals will not receive certification in Sports Engine unless logged in to their own account when completing the courses.

Club directors should submit the Junior Club Ref/Scorer Training Report Form on the forms page upon clinic completion.

INDIVIDUAL ONLINE TRAINING
Clubs may ask their coaches and players to do the individual online training through the USAV Academy. How do you access these modules in your USAV Academy (for members)? Click here. Once in the USAV Academy, an individual from the Badger Region can click “Content Library” and the five modules will appear at the top of the library. Once clicking on the module, the individual will be automatically enrolled and can begin the training. The recommended method of access is to use google chrome as your browser, on a laptop/desktop.

Please Note: a member must be logged in to the account used to purchase membership. Then from the “household” click on the profile card of the person needing to complete the training. Then under the membership, click “view details”, and then the USAV Academy.

HOST A JUNIOR WORK CREW CLINIC with a Professional Official
Optionally clubs can host a clinic run by a professional official. Scheduling and any fees associated with these clinics is the responsibility of the host club. We suggest that clubs work with each other to co-host a clinic with another club, therefore keeping costs down.

      1. Contact a referee listed on the Jr. Work Crew Clinic Contact List to request & schedule your clinic
      2. Confirm with the referee any materials needed to host the clinic and provide directions to your host facility.
      3. Submit the Junior Club Ref/Scorer Training Report Form on the forms page upon clinic completion.
