Badger Region High Performance prepares for USA All-Star Championships in Orlando

“As one door closes another opens.” (We can credit that quote to Alexander Graham Bell.) That is the case with the Badger Region High Performance program, too.
While the traditional HP Championships were canceled by USA Volleyball, leaders from multiple Regions from around the country have gathered to make sure an elite competition that pits Region All-Star teams against each other will take place this summer.
Those details are starting to take shape.
We are excited to announce that Badger Region High Performance teams will take part in the inaugural USA All-Star Championships from July 21-25 (same dates as before) in Orlando, Fla., at the Orange County Convention Center.
In the little bit of time since the cancelation of HPCs, staff of the new event has secured the convention center space, secured courts to rent, has begun to work with the cadre of international officials, vendors, collegiate coaches, Baller TV, University Athlete and many other partners to make sure this event exceeds all expectations.
Like Alexander Graham Bell, the tournament committee plans to learn from past mistakes at previous tournaments and move forward in its commitment to make this an amazing experience for every All-Star athlete, coach, staff member and spectator.
While we may have seen the cancelation of the Phoenix event as a setback, this new opportunity will continue to allow our elite athletes in the Badger Region to train with collegiate coaches at our training camps and be showcased in front of dozens of in-person college coaches in Orlando as well as the MANY more who subscribe to BallerTV and other streaming services. It will also allow us to fulfill other points in our HP mission statement such as creating a collegiate-like/independent travel experience, playing elite all-star teams from around the country, and building a new network of teammates, coaches and volleyball enthusiasts who can help grow the game at its highest level.
The tournament committee foresees this event as maintaining its international rule sets that have been discussed with athletes and coaches here in the Badger Region at tryouts and training.
To be quite honest, the collaborative effort of the Regions with the new event, where we can compile resources and decades worth of tournament directing experience, will make this tournament one that other tournaments will want to replicate in the future. If there is anyone who will be able to pull off these All-Star Championships, it will be this group.
And Badger Region looks to be a big part of it both behind the scenes and on the medal stand where we hope to land all of our teams in their respective divisions.
Badger Region staff is already securing the flights to Orlando and blocking hotel rooms for athletes and coaches as we speak.
