Capital Volleyball Academy director Mark Rushton was named to the Badger Region Board of Directors Feb. 5, 2018.
“My passion is teaching, and volleyball is my creative outlet to help our young people learn many important life lessons about competition, struggle, teamwork, work ethic, discipline, sacrifice, fearlessness, perseverance and how to play the game of volleyball,” Rushton said.
Rushton is a graduate of Sun Prairie High School and Carroll University. He is the former Director of Outreach for the Wisconsin Private Colleges Association.
As director of Outreach, Rushton traveled the state advocating for student financial aid, as well as designing and implementing programming for students and families to teach them how to navigate the college admissions and financial aid process.
“These experiences have served me well in my current role at Capital Volleyball Academy, as we help our athletes grow through athletics, and navigate through the maze of college recruiting,” he said.
He currently resides in Fort Atkinson with his wife, son and daughter.
“I look forward to the opportunity to represent the diverse goals and aspirations of our state’s athletes, families and clubs as a member of the Badger Region Board,” he said.
